A 1940s Kensington Bathroom, Fully Rebuilt
Olive-green wall tile, patterned vinyl and a shower curtain — stripped back to the studs and rebuilt.

BeforeAfter- The job
- Original olive tile with a decorative border, a laminate vanity with a molded basin, patterned vinyl over the floorboards, and a tub–shower combination behind a curtain. No waterproofing worth the name and no exhaust.
- What we did
- Stripped to frame, re-plumbed and rewired, new waterproofing membrane flood-tested before tile, floor-to-ceiling tiling, a wood-look vanity with a stone top, round mirror with a wall light over it, matte black faucets, and a frameless screen to the existing tub.
- Timeline
- Four weeks, part of a whole-home overhaul
- The result
- The tub and the window are exactly where they were. Everything a hand touches is new — including a flood-tested waterproofing membrane, photographed for the file before tile. This bathroom sat inside a fixed-price overhaul of the whole house.
